I love visiting schools to talk to years 12 and 13 about the Brontës. Do contact me if you’d like to discuss a visit.

Feedback from students at Weald of Kent Grammar School:

“I found the talk very informative about the context of the book and how Charlotte Bronte's upbringing influenced Jane Eyre. Particularly the details about her early interest in storytelling, her brother when she was growing up, and how the book was written as Bronte was looking after her father in a dark room after his eye operation, that myself and my class did not know before but that we can now use in our essays. I also liked how Jane's character development was discussed.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed Samantha Ellis's talk on Jane Eyre, she was a superb public speaker and created a enjoyable and informative talk on the novel. All of the ideas that she presented were really helpful for gaining a further insight into the context of the novel . She spoke about the text in such a passionate way which made me love the book even more than I previously did ( if that's even possible).”
