Hello! Welcome to my website. My new book is called Chopping Onions on my Heart in most places and Always Carry Salt in the US; same book, two titles. It’s about my mother tongue, the language of Iraqi Jews, going extinct and how that feels, and about losing and saving, keeping and letting go.

My other books are my reading memoir How to be a Heroine and Take Courage, a biography of Anne Brontë. I also write plays like my rom com How to Date a Feminist which has been performed all over the world.

I’m the daughter of Iraqi Jewish refugees, and I live in London with my son.
